Authorities are looking for a Vicksburg woman whose home was involved in a fire at 10:08 a.m.

According to information from authorities, they have been unable to locate Sara Jackson, 74, at her home at 539 Hugo St., or by telephone.

Initially, Jackson, who authorities said has a condition that diminishes her mental capacity, was believed to have been in the home, but firefighters were unable to find her in the home, and attempts by relatives and friends to locate her by calling acquaintances were unsuccessful.

Anyone with any information about her whereabouts or who saw her in the community Tuesday should call Vicksburg Warren 911 at 601-631-8800, the Vicksburg Fire Department, Vicksburg Police Department or the Warren County Sheriffs Office.

Vicksburg Firefighters responding to the 911 call about the fire arrived to find it fully involved.

Fire Chief Craig Danczyk said the home sustained substantial damage in the fire, adding a metal roof over the master bedroom area held the flames, causing them to spread laterally and collapse the room.

He said more firefighters were called to relieve the firefighters who initially responded.
