Suspected Mississippi State Shooter in custody, no injuries reported.

A shooter at Mississippi State University was taken into custody Thursday morning.

Maroon Alerts were sent out shortly after 10:15 a.m. alerting students, faculty and staff of an active shooter on campus.

“Active shooter report at Carpenter Hall. Seek Safety immediately,” the first alert said; followed by “Active shooter last seen in vicinity of Lee Hall. Seek Safety immediately.”

Around 10:30 a.m., another alert was sent out announcing the suspected shooter was in custody, but advising everyone to continue to seek safety.

UPDATE:

A Maroon Alert was sent out at 10:41 a.m. reporting there are no injuries reported at this time.

“They (sic) is no report at this time of any shots that have been fired,” the alert said. “”Continue to shelter in place until further notice. Stay away from campus. Stay inside buildings,” a follow-up alert said.
