Vicksburg police are looking for a 20-year-old man accused of shooting another man in the leg Thursday night.

Sgt. Johnnie Edwards said a warrant has been issued for Charles Lee “Lil Chuckie” Doss, 104 Ash St., charging him with aggravated assault in the shooting of Eldrae Stewart, 34, 1207 A Jefferson St., during an argument over a cigarette. He said Stewart was taken to Merit Health River Region, where he was treated for his wound and released.

Police were called to the hospital about 11:45 p.m. Thursday about a gunshot victim in the emergency room. Stewart said Doss pulled a gun during the argument and shot him once in the left leg. He said he ran from Jefferson Street to Mundy Street, where a relative drove him to the hospital. Stewart was listed in good condition then released.
