UPDATE: Mayfield wins Democratic nomination

With each of the six precincts reporting, incumbent alderman Michael Mayfield has defeated challenger John Carroll Sr. in the Democratic primary for the North Ward alderman position. Mayfield will now advance to the general election on June 6.

Mayfield earned 1,085 votes, compared to Carroll’s 530.
